Adrian Brown is a jazz and classically trained musician with a BA (Hons) in Music and Music Marketing. Studying at Chichester University he majored in jazz saxophone and classical piano performance, while also learning to play the flute and clarinet.
Since graduating University, Adrian has focused on becoming an instrumental teacher and is a subject he feels very passionately about. Teaching and passing on skills to help an individual grow and seeing pupils becoming more confident through music.
Performing professionally from a young age he has extensive playing experience, having worked with pit bands, concert bands, jazz and funk bands, orchestras and vocal experience in choirs. He has worked with Elstree Productions playing in the pit band for a number of amateur dramatic productions. A member of Harrow Young Musicians for 7 years he played in their Concert Band, Symphony Winds and Philharmonic Orchestra in Venice as well as the Royal Albert Hall on two occasions. He has also played with Mill Hill County Big Band and Concert Band in Germany, Black Forest. Playing in a number of styles covering swing, big band, jazz and fusion.
Adrian started his musical career when he was given the opportunity to play cello in primary school. When he reached High School he swapped the cello to learn saxophone and took to it like honey to a bee. He joined Harrow Young Musicians shortly after and grew with them as a musician progressing through the elementary bands to top band in the group and performing in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall. During his GCSE’s he took up piano to improve music theory and studying jazz piano at Chichester University.
Adrian has also performed at weddings, indoor and outdoor events as a solo Saxophonist in and around Chichester and West Sussex. with or without backing tracks and in small ensembles, tailored to fit the venue and can provide a music set-list in Jazz, Funk, Soul and Pop styles.
